According to Anthony Rogers-Wright, Policy Coordinator for The Climate Justice Alliance (CJA), the environmental justice ideas in the GND were developed decades before the resolution was introduced in the US House by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and in the US Senate by and Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA).
