Here are a few ways to discover and understand this diversity.</font><ul><li><font color="#2a2a2a"><strong>Toby Kiers</strong> is an evolutionary biologist at the Free University of Amsterdam and Director of SPUN, a research organization promoting the kind of fungi that make underground networks with plants (mycorrhizal). Toby is the winner of the 2026 Tyler Prize (often dubbed the Green Nobel) and a MacArthur Genius Fellow. She will tell us about the amazing characteristics of these organisms, including their ability to help with climate change, and how she is disseminating knowledge about them and discovering new types of them all over the globe.</font><br></li><li><font color="#2a2a2a"><strong>Alison Young</strong>&nbsp;is Director of Outreach at iNaturalist, a citizen scientist organization collecting data worldwide.
