So many consequential environmental stories having been airing recently, we decided to examine some of them in more detail and give additional perspective.
Picture
Bob Deans is director of strategic engagement for the Natural Resources Defense Council and an author of books on environmental topics.  He will be discussing the decision by the Biden administration to open the Willow project in Alaska to oil and gas drilling and the recent IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) report on the world’s crisis regarding climate change.

Picture
Judith Enck is an environmental policy expert.  She has held various influential positions in state and federal government, including the Regional Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).  Among other things, she founded Beyond Plastic in 2019 to end plastic pollution through education, advocacy, and institutional change.  She will be talking about the problems of plastic pollution, particularly for our health.  These issues are currently salient because of the pollution caused by recent train derailments and toxic spills in our waterways.

And more related news items with Linda Rosenwein.
