Mark Z. Jacobson is a professor of civil and environmental engineering at Stanford University and a leading expert on clean, renewable energy solutions. Mark Z. Jacobson’s career has focused on better understanding air pollution and climate problems and developing large-scale clean, renewable energy solutions to them. He will talk about firebrick heat storage technology, and how this system could be a much better option for industrial processes that need high heat than either batteries or fossil fuels. |
Bob Keefe is E2’s executive director, overseeing all aspects of E2’s work and its staff and chapters stretching from New York to San Diego. He speaks regularly about the clean energy economy and the economic benefits of smart environmental policies. He has testified before Congress and numerous state legislatures, appeared on many main stream media outlets, and written various books about climate change economics. He will give an overview of the Inflation Reduction Act’s effect on the economy, job growth, and the reduction of green house gases. |
John Hall, assistant professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Before doing academic work, he held senior-level positions in design, manufacturing, maintenance, and reliability engineering and is a licensed engineer. His research concentrates on design methodologies and novel control techniques that promote sustainable systems. He worked to create innovative design methods promoting the productivity and longevity of wind turbines; Dr. Hall’s patent resulted in a startup company that develops adaptive blade software and technology. He will talk about the way various wind energy systems work, the latest kinds of wind power designs, and the appropriateness of various designs/equipment for different situations. |
Marilyn V. Howarth, MD, FACOEM, Adjunct Associate Professor, University of Pennsylvania. She is also the Deputy Director of the Philadelphia Regional Center for Children’s Environmental Health. Marilyn also is the Director of the Community Engagement Core of the Center of Excellence in Environmental Toxicology. She talks about public health and climate change. |

Sean O’Leary, senior researcher, energy and petrochemicals, at the Ohio River Valley Institute, will talk about the dozen hydrogen hubs being planned in Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania and research on their impacts. The DOE plans to give out seven billion to develop hydrogen hubs across the nation. Many Pennsylvania government officials also say they are climate friendly. |
