In this show we explore local flooding troubles that illustrate problems and possible solutions for the rest of the country. We talk with Josh Lippert, former Philly flood plain manager, about flood risks in Philadelphia made worse by sea level rise and the unprecedented extreme weather events we are all increasingly experiencing, and deficiencies in planning for the such risks. Our second guest is Jordan Gass-Pooré, investigative journalist & creator of the “Hazard NJ” podcast about risks climate change poses to Superfund sites in NJ. This podcast is a production of NJ Spotlight News, the news division of NJ PBS. She will tell us what she discovered about the scary situation with toxic sites posed by increased risks due to climate change.
