How do you figure the economics? 5/7/2021
Picture
Our interviews with Dr. Tamma Carleton, professor at the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management of the University of California Santa Barbara, and with Dr. Richard Bradbury, the head of the “people conservation science” team at the Centre for Conservation Science of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) and honorary research fellow at Cambridge University, explore why the social cost of carbon (SCC), its calculation and its amount are important. As examples, would a higher cost of SCC persuade decision makers to lower air pollution, support alternatives to fertilizer, use greener electricity, or conserve natural habitats?
